- The Hidden Cost of a One-Number Spec: What Your Mooney Test Doesn’t Tell You
Alpha Technologies invites you to the
2026 MV to RPA Webinar
September 24th 2026
10:00 am Eastern Time (U.S.) / 16:00 Central European Time
Duration: 30 minutes with live Q&A | Platform: Microsoft Teams | Cost: Free
The Premier RPA reproduces your existing, industry-standard Mooney number (R² > 0.99) while also delivering the molecular architecture, viscoelastic, and cure data that is critical for controlling rubber process and product quality.
What the Webinar Will Cover
The Mooney Standard: What it measures and why it matters
Where Mooney Falls Short: The limits of a 90-year old single point test
The RPA – Four Tools in One: A new kind of rubber testing platform
The Correlation Science: Why S’, why high strain, why 0.1 Hz
The Data: R² > 0.99 across elastomers and compounds
Beyond Mooney: What you get that Mooney never gave you
When You Need to See More & Know More
Your Mooney data passed every spec check. But it’s one number, from one shear rate, at one moment in time. It can’t tell you why die swell is inconsistent, how the filler network is behaving, or when cure actually starts.
Mooney measures viscous resistance only. Elastic recovery, filler-filler networking, and crosslink density stay invisible — which is exactly why you still need a second (or third) instrument to see the rest of the compound.
The Premier RPA runs inside a sealed, pressurized die and reproduces your Mooney number at R² > 0.99 — while returning everything Mooney was never built to show:
- Mooney-equivalent viscosity (ML(1+4))
- Molecular architecture (MW, LCB)
- Elastic + viscous components (S′, S″)
- Full cure kinetics on the same run
