Alpha training opportunities range from basic information to advanced levels of operation, data analysis and application development. Your operators, lab technicians and maintenance engineers will become confident with their instruments, software and testing routines, as they attain Alpha certification.

Training Options
Introduction to Rheology 101
This is a modern training designed around the theory behind rheology testing. Alpha applications professionals will guide participants through hands-on instrument and software activities. This training is suitable for the widest range of people, from potential customers to customers who have been with Alpha for many years.
Operator Training 121
Operator Training is intended for those who work directly with their instruments on a daily basis. This level of training is designed to help operators and lab technicians obtain the fundamental knowledge needed to complete daily tasks, with an emphasis on the Workbench interface, operator interaction and instrument operation. Alpha’s training professionals will demonstrate best practices for successful instrument operation. Areas of instruction include:
- Instrument Overview
- Basic Operation
- Detailed instrument features and functions
- Routine maintenance
Software Training 131
Enterprise Software can make life in your quality or R&D lab efficient and productive. It has been designed for ease of use and intuitive operation. The software training course covers:
- Basic software capabilities for general customer needs
- Software operational foundation
Software Administrative Training 141
- Operational and system maintenance for Enterprise software
- Advanced setup features
Refresher Training 201
Alpha offers shorter Refresher Training courses for operators and lab technicians who have already gone through Operator Training but want to review and refresh their knowledge. Refresher Training is typically done on-site.
- Basic operation, calibration, and maintenance review
- Basic software interface review
Maintenance Training 251
Your technicians will achieve Alpha University certification as they cover both the theory of operation and hands-on preventative and corrective maintenance procedures. Operations include
- Instrument cleaning
- Calibration
- Breakdown identification and repair,
- Complete understanding of situation/warning lights and notifications
A certified technician is better prepared to speak with an Alpha service engineer and explain the problem, as well as able to fix it because they know where to look.
Advanced Software Training 331
Intended for customers who want to take full advantage of all the Enterprise and database features. This is a high-level course that may require involvement from IT/database specialists and SQL programmers. This course is generally reserved for those customers who have owned and operated the Enterprise software for 6 months and wish to tailor their system, including:
- Specific inputs/outputs,
- Barcoding
- Certificate of analysis reports
- Automatic material release reports
- Data connections to other plant locations
Advanced software training should be scheduled after the commissioning of instruments.
Custom Applications Training 400
This training is for customers needing specific test development and data to improve product process and quality. Through one-on-one training, customers can enhance their testing capabilities, data collection, and reporting. Detailed research and product experiments may be included depending on the customer requests. These items should be discussed with the applications specialist before an on-site visit, since some preliminary work may be required. This test configuration training and information session is intended for customers familiar with polymer testing and who have established testing standards. Custom Application Training should be scheduled after the commissioning of instruments.
