HUDSON, Ohio – August 3, 2026 – Alpha Technologies, a global leader in rheology testing instrumentation, today introduced the Premier™ MDR DUO, the first Moving Die Rheometer to run two samples at once in a single instrument. The dual-die design doubles testing capacity in the same footprint, giving high-volume rubber producers a way to clear testing bottlenecks without a second instrument or a larger lab.
A single MDR sets a limit on testing throughput. When cure testing backs up, batch releases wait. Until now, labs and production floors with rising sample volume have only had one path to more capacity: buy another instrument, double the capital cost, and surrender space.
The Premier MDR DUO removes the tradeoff. Two die sets in one instrument let operators test two samples at the same time, so manufacturers can double their testing output from the footprint they already have. Upfront and maintenance costs are reduced compared to purchasing two separate MDR units.
Running on the same platform as the Premier MDR, the DUO mirrors the certified Alpha OEM parts, user interface, and workflow that operators and labs rely on today. Adopting it requires no new standard operating procedures and no retraining. The instrument measures both cure and foaming reactions, queues up to 224 samples for automated testing, and connects to the Alpha Enterprise Software platform for consistent batch-to-batch data across the operation.
