Our History
Where It All Started
Alpha Technologies began as a team of Monsanto scientists in 1964. They were tasked with solving one specific problem for the rubber industry: proving a material would perform the way it needed to. This effort led to two inventions still shaping the industry today: the Moving Die Rheometer and the Rubber Process Analyzer, the first instrument able to measure a compound before, during, and after cure in a single test.
Alpha became its own company in 1986. We moved our headquarters to Hudson, Ohio in 2017. Today, Alpha is part of the AMETEK family of companies. Over sixty years after we started, rheology testing is still our sole focus.
